So one of my favorite TV shows ever would have to be the one, the only DOCTOR WHO! Not all of these are the conventional what you would think of, but there's just some books where I can't help but think of some aspect of Doctor Who.  In no order in particular.

 

Across the Universe by Beth Revis
Hmmm...I wonder where the Doctor travels...

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
Time traveling?  Obviously this would be on this list.

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

Aliens invading Earth.  Invading any planet really. Sounds familiar.

       

Pivot Point by Kasie West

Just the idea of manipulating time & seeing multiple futures.  Plus you have special powers.

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

Imagine Howl as the Doctor.  Imagine Sophie as a companion.  Imagine the Moving Castle as the Tardis.  BOOM.

Every Day by David Levithan
The struggle of loving someone it would be difficult to have.  And changing faces all the time (like regeneration?)  I wonder where I've heard that before... *sobs*



     

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Will Herondale.  Need I say more?  And plus it takes place in London. 

The Host by Stephanie Meyer
Aliens.  Duh.  I think I underestimate sometimes how many different types of aliens are in Doctor Who.

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
I think of Alyss as Amy Pond and how her life kind of got turned upside down because no one believed her story or her past life.  It's actually scary how similar Alyss and Amy are.  At least that's how I see it.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...

 

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling

I think I was basing this more off of Rory than anyone else to be honest.  But all the magical adventures Harry faces feels like it could be in a Doctor Who episode.

This was a ton of fun putting together.  I love Doctor Who and it's one of my favorite shows and I wanted to challenge myself and see what I find.  Some of these books are my absolute favorites and I hope you feel inspired :)

Top Ten Tuesday #2: Top Ten Beach Reads

The way I define a "beach read" is something that can get you in the mood for summer.  Most of the books here remind me of summer in some aspect :)

      

1. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han.  "Summer lovin, had me a blast!"

2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan.  Hello?  Summer camp?  Except for demigods?  

3. The Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn.  Hot surfer dudes and 14 year old girls on vacation in California!  YEAH!

  

4. Angel's Grace by Tracey Baptiste.  Summer in Trinidad with a bit of mystery.  So great!

5. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.  Nothing says "beach read" than a summer romance by a beach in North Carolina.

   

   

6. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series by Ann Brashares.  Pants are a girl's best friend!

7. The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall.  Read this back in 6th grade & the four girls in this story make the most of their summer and make it one to remember.

 

8. The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen.  A truly beautiful love story.

9. Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli.  One word:  magical.

10. Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison.  I feel kinda summer-y whenever I read a story that takes place in England.

Top Ten Tuesday #1: Books Featuring Travel In Some Way

This is my first one and I'm excited to meet other bloggers in the book blogging world and see everyone's top 10!





1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.  Let's see...American school in Paris, French/ British/ American boy.  I sure as heck would travel there.  Can I be Anna?








2. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares. I mean, who doesn't love a story about 4 best friends being separated for the summer and traveling to different places? I love all the adventures they have and the letters they send. Very travelesque book.






3. 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson.  Adventure, mystery, romance, and at the same time traveling throughout Europe?  Sounds good to me!






4. Across the Universe by Beth Revis.  Traveling across space in a spaceship to a new planet.  Seems legit enough.







5. Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie.  All you need to fly is faith, trust, and pixie dust, & soon you're off to Neverland, where you'll never grow up.  I love this book with my life.  I've always wanted to go to Neverland.  Such a magical place.






6. Paper Towns by John Green.  This book was so amazing and mystery filled...I felt as lost as Q when he was looking for Margo!  ROAD TRIP!!





7. The Angel Experiment by James Patterson.  The whole book is the flock traveling and fighting the bad guys.  Pretty much.  But I loved the action in here! 







8. The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perlious Journey by Trenton Lee Stewart.  I love all the traveling and mystery in the second book in the Mysterious Benedict Society series.  All the places they went were so interesting and really made the story flow!






9. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys.  Such a beautifully written book with a deep meaning to it.  Shows the hardships of people living during that era in Europe, and how strong they are in the long journey they took.  Really thought provoking.






10. Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gillbert.  "pleasure in Italy, devotion in India, and on the Indonesian island of Bali, a balance between worldly enjoyment and divine transcendence."  This book was so descriptive (considering it's a memoir) that I could picture where she was in my head.
