The House of Hades Cover Reveal: Percabeth!

So, I was at school today & I knew the cover would be revealed today.  I just kept refreshing every single social networking site I know on my phone anticipating the reveal.  After much refreshing and a tired thumb, I found the picture of the cover and I was in awe.

Ain't it a beaut?  Now, I am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan.  I read The Lightning Thief when I was in 6th grade.  And now I'm finishing up my junior year of high school, and this series is still going on strong.  This has always been one of my favorite series and it has been a privilege to read these books.

As always, I LOVE the artwork on the Percy Jackson covers.  The coloring is great, the detail is amazing, and it gives us a better picture of what may be going on during a specific scene of the book.  These covers also give us an idea of what the characters look like.

So... The House of Hades cover... I am so in love with it.  And, Annabeth is finally on one of the covers!  After 8 books, the 9th one seems to be the charm.  And Percy is in the cover as well which gets me super excited!  Percabeth!  Percabeth is my all time favorite pairing in all of the Middle Grade books I have read.  Basically, if you offend Percabeth, well...you shouldn't.  Wow, all that time in Tartarus made his hair get all long and such. And, both of their clothes are tattered and torn.  Which I'm guessing means, they have been there for a while.  *sniff sniff*.  And I'm guessing that those are the Doors of Death in the background.  This looks so intense and amazing! I can't wait to read The House of Hades!

I don't know if I can wait until October 8!  After that cliffhanger in The Mark of Athena, I've been very unstable, in fangirl terms of course.  I'm dying to know what happens.  I'm just extremely ecstatic that Percy and Annabeth survived the fall, though I'm scared of what may happen in this next book.  Will any of the characters die?  Will Gaea get closer to Camp Half-Blood?  The big thing that I keep thinking about is that one line in the Prophecy...

"An oath to keep with a final breath,

And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death."

I'm sure everyone has already made the same theory already...but I'm afraid of my theory.  At the end of The Mark of Athena, Nico made a promise to Percy to meet him on the other side of the Doors of Death.  This scares me because I love Nico.  He is such an amazing, deep character, and I'm really glad that he's become a much more important character in this series.  If he dies...I don't know how I'll deal with myself.  I'm still not over Luke's, Silena's & Beckendorf's deaths.  Heck, if any of the seven die, I'm gonna lose it.  Actually this is probably if any of the characters die (the good ones at least).  It's just, I get so attached to characters, espeacially when a series is 9 books long.  This is how I felt when many of the characters died in the last book of Harry Potter.  Many of them were MAIN characters.  I understand that sometimes an author has to kill characters...but hey, it still hurts.

Well, I can't wait for The House of Hades!  What do you guys think?  Have any theories?  Have any thoughts?  Let me know!  Discuss with me!  Oh my gods, I am so excited.
