Bout of Books Days 1 & 2

How did Day 1 & 2 go, Sarah?

Yeah, so I'm a pretty slow reader.  I overestimate my abilities and in 2 days, I have read a total of 1 book!  But the book I did read was absolutely amazing & I do plan on writing a review on it soon.  I'm also in the process of writing my review for
The One by Kiera Cass but I feel like all my words are going to be a series of rambling on and on.  But, you will get a review.  I promise.  I'll also be attaching my book review for it on youtube as well!

So the book I finished today was none other than Where She Went by Gayle Forman.  Let me just say this was so beautiful and so perfect that I'm still in awe.  I gave it 4.5 stars.  It almost got 5 stars, but I have to admit that some parts were just too slow for me.  But otherwise the writing, the story, it was all brilliant.  This duology is something I will keep close to my heart.  I'm so glad I read it for this read-a-thon.

So what next, Sarah?

My next read is going to be Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg!  Hopefully, I'll be able to finish that tonight (yes I plan on reading in the early hours of the morning).

Bout of Books 10.0 Goals + Exciting News!

Hey everyone!  So before I get into my goals, I want to tell you guys a little story as well as some exciting news!

I went on an adventure today.  I had school, went to track practice, drove 20 minutes to a Panera Bread in order to get two books from my lovely fried, drove 20 minutes back, ate dinner, delayed doing my homework, stayed up until 1 AM, & it was all because of this book called The One by Kiera Cass.  I literally just finished reading it and I have so many thoughts and feelings that it will take a couple days for me to process everything.  So hopefully by Thursday night, I will have my review of The One posted on this blog for you guys!  Also my exciting news, this weekend, I am going to officially become a Book Tuber and my first video will be a review of this book!  How exciting!  I'll still be updating this blog obviously, but booktubing is something I've been contemplating for a long time.

Well now onto the main event!

Bout of BooksBOUT OF BOOKS GOALS

My main goal is to read 8 books.  I'm a typically slow reader, so I don't want to overpush my boundaries.  But I think for me, this is fairly doable.  This means I would have to read at least a book a day.  Most of my choices are contemporary, because honestly I don't want to be crying to hard (although feels are nice here and there).

If I won't have read them by next week, here are the main books I am planning on reading:

1. Where She Went by Gayle Foreman
2. Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg
3. Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
4. Castle in the Air by Diana Wynne Jones
5. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

And for now the rest have yet to be determined :)

April Wrap-Up & May TBR!

Hey everyone!  So April is over and that means that May is here!

And May means:
30 more days of school
30 more days until graduation
30 more days until a summer of nonstop reading
a ton of books on my TBR list

Things that happened in April:

Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6)
Books I finished:
Destroy Me - Tahereh Mafi
Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) - Richelle Mead
Split Second (Pivot Point, #2) - Kasie West
*Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) - Richelle Mead
The Awakening - Kate Chopin
What I Thought Was True - Huntley Fitzpatrick
Fracture Me - Tahereh Mafi

*FAVORITE

Books I'm Currently Reading:
This Star Won't Go Out - Esther Earl
Dorothy Must Die - Danielle Paige

TV Shows/ Webseries:
I haven't been watching too much because of school, but lately I've gotten into watching Emma Approved on Youtube.  I've also started rewatching just about my favorite TV show ever, Merlin (starring my husband Bradley James).

Movies:
I can't think of too many that stick out in my mind besides the DVDs that I either owned or borrowed from the library.  I saw Pride and Prejudice (the one with Kiera Knightley) for the first time and SWOONED at the sight of Darcy.  I mean let's be serious here... I also saw  The Illusionist which really is a fantastic movie and if you haven't seen it you should.  Plus, if you've ever seen Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging, you may recognize some characters ;) ALSO, just last week, my mom bought me The Book Thief ! Like the movie version.  I plan on doing a review of this sometime but  I haven't really had the chance to.  Although it might be a good idea to reread it first.  Let me tell ya, watching this movie was more painful the second time.  But all of it was so so so worth it.

Life:
AP Exam studying & track and field have pretty much taken up my life, so I haven't had much of a chance to get to reading or anything else really.  But hopefully in May, things will turn up.  Especially because my birthday is on Saturday.  EEP!!

May TBR & Things I'm Excited For!:

Honestly, I have so much on my plate, I'm not even sure how I'm going to balance it all, but because school ends for me at the end of the month, I think I can do it all.

MAY TBR:

First of all, my most anticipated reads coming out this month that may just be the DEATH of me.

The One (The Selection, #3)City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)
The One - Kiera Cass & City of Heavenly Fire - Cassandra Clare

And then the regular TBR (& it's a doozy!!)

Dorothy Must Die - Danielle Paige
This Star Won't Go Out - Esther Earl
The Selection Stories - Kiera Cass
Where She Went - Gayle Foreman
Better Off Friends - Elizabeth Eulberg
Howl's Moving Castle - Diana Wynne Jones
Castle in the Air - Diana Wynne Jones
Throne of Glass - Sarah J. Maas
Second Chance Summer - Morgan Matson
Ignite Me - Tahereh Mafi
The Taking - Kimberly Derting
Sea of Shadows - Kelley Armstrong
To All The Boys I've Loved Before - Jenny Han

Now yes, I'm pretty ambitious, but I am ready to take on this challenge (plus I'm participating in Bout of Books 10.0, so you may see some of these there *wink wink*)

Now 4 of the books I've mentioned are on my TBR for a reason.  I'm pretty excited about this & I'm so excited I'll get to meet one of my favorite authors of anything ever.  AKA KIERA CASS THE BAE.

The Summer 2014 Dark Days Tour presented by Epic Reads

I'm so freaking excited that I'll be able to attend this and I'll get my copy of The One signed and I'm literally shaking, because I'm so excited.  I have my library's copy of Dorothy Must Die but I have Sea of Shadows and The Taking on hold at my library.  Whoops.

Besides bookish things, I'm excited because on Saturday, I turn 18!  And I've convinced my parents that we should see The Amazing Spiderman 2.  YESSSSS.  BRB SWOONING.

That's all for now, and obviously, I'll have some reviews up and running for a lot of these books, so definitely STAY TUNED!  May is gonna be a good month.

Feature & Follow Friday #4

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

If you wish to follow me, I'm on Bloglovin and GFC!

Question of the Week: Share! Tell us about one of your hobbies that is NOT reading.

Well... I have a lot of hobbies.  It's so hard to talk about just one.  So I'll talk about my main two (besides reading of course).  I have a HUGE passion for track and field.  I've been participating in the sport since 5th grade.  And now I'm a senior in high school!  It feels so weird and unreal that I've been doing track for so many years, but what's even weirder is that when I get to college, I'm still going to be doing what I love!  For those of you who are interested, my main events are long and triple jump, but my coach puts me in the 100m, 4x100, and sometimes the 4x200.  A lot of people don't like running, but I LOVE IT.

Another hobby that I hold close to my heart would definitely be singing.  I may not be Idina Menzel but I just love singing.  Some artists that I compare my voice to (almost because I'll never be as spectacular as them) are Sara Bareilles, Adele, Ingrid Michaelson, Corrine Bailey Rae, and Colbie Caillat.  I'm 100% pure alto.  Don't even try to get me to sing soprano!

What are some of your hobbies?

Link me below & be sure to let me know if you followed on either Bloglovin or GFC!  :)
